Description of the build:

"We have taken a stock 2015 Honda Grom and built a crazy little 80 horsepower street legal mini motorcycle from the ground up. We have documented our entire journey on YouTube I’ve the past year where we build a full custom DOM tubing frame to cradle a 700CC Yamaha parallel twin engine. We’ve fabricated a custom swing arm, suspension, drive hubs, automotive grade fuel system, gas tanks and hand made stainless steel exhaust to suite. This crazy mini moto does 0-60 in 1.89 seconds, 1/4 mile in 11.9 seconds and tops out at 126mph (GPS verified) ALL ON 12” WHEELS! This bike is still in the testing phase and does not have the finishing touches completed yet, but it still looks amazing as it sits with full plastics. What is really amazing is all the work under the fairings that’s makes you wonder how we crammed so much in such a little space. We ride this bike hard and push it to its limits, trying to break it before the final paint and assembly, and have yet to have a single issue. Once completed, we have plans to turbocharge this motorcycle we call “The Grominator” and have all the supporting mods in place to support the addition power."

"My Best friend and I have done something that no one has done before. This is the largest engine swap done successfully in a 125cc class motorcycle to date. We broke every acceleration and speed record for the mini moto class on our shake down ride - the first 15 minutes of ever being on the road. "First, thank you for considering our bike for round 1! We are excited to be a part of such a cool competition. 

This bike has been an incredible challenge and journey to build. My best friend and I have done 100% of the work ourselves in the garage with no fancy equipment or jigs. The entire build has been trial and error up until this point, and it now RIPS! This Modified Honda Grom is GPS  verified as the worlds fastest 125cc mini moto at 126MPH on 12” wheels! It does 0-60mph in 3.2 seconds and does the 1/4mile in 11.9 seconds! 

A few key things about our bike:

-Yamaha FZ07 engine

-Custom DOM tube frame bent and tig welded myself.

-automotive fuel system with extended gas tanks in the rear (Had to cut stock tank in half to clear engine)

-custom CNC machined rear sprocket hub 

-Hand made SS exhaust system

-fully tuned for modified exhaust and intake.

We still have a lot to do to completely finish this project like powder coating the frame, getting the plastics vinyl wrapped and adding some final touches, but overall we have ridden, tested and pushed this bike hard with zero issues. We also plan on turbo charging this bike once we get more top speed and acceleration runs maxed out to break our own record again."
